raisins

cinnamon stick

French bread
, sliced 1-inch-thick

cup
(2 ounces)
crumbled panela cheese

PLACE Abuelita, evaporated milk, water, sugar, raisins, nuts and cinnamon stick in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture comes to a boil and texture is smooth. Remove from heat; discard cinnamon stick.
PLACE bread in 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Pour chocolate mixture over bread. Sprinkle with cheese. Serve hot or chilled.

Review: I love this especially when it's too hot to bake! Great chocolate fix without heating up the kitchen. I changed the recipe around -- I use a really good cinnamon raisin bread instead of french bread, and I don't add extra sugar, and it's still quite sweet enough.

Review: Truly a recipe that you'll share over and over again. It was easy and gone in just a day. My kids usual don't eat bread pudding, but the new twist of chocolate enticed them. I'll probably put it in my holiday favorite items to give.
